Week 23

Picture taken at the Apple Store last week using the kid macs

Hello world, there's a song that we're singin'.  C'mon get happy!  I have no idea why, but this is what is running through my head lately.  I think maybe I need to slow down and take some time to just be happy. I have been insanely busy lately, or so it has felt, and I am looking forward to some down time.  I am not sure when exactly that will come but tomorrow night I am going to the Temple again for the 2nd time in a week and I know that is going to be exactly what I need.  I need just breathe, take some time to absorb and be clear and still.
I was also assigned tonight to give a talk on Sunday.  Yes, that is exactly 3.5 days to prepare.  Insane?  Yes.  Doable?  Probably.  Enjoyable?  Absolutely NOT.  Thankfully, the topic is the Blessings of the Temple .... hello, tender mercies.
Last week's dinners got in a bit of a jumble and we never got to go OUT for a date night. We had a few at home renting movies and eating treats but it is not the same and it meant that I had to cook.
This week:

Sunday:
Kind, lovely friends had us over for a delicious meal of steak with mushroom wine sauce, roasted potatoes, brown sugar glazed carrots and parsnips and quinoa salad with spiced warm peaches and ice cream for dessert.  it was heavenly and so nice after the craziness of the Primary Presentation.

Monday:
Turkey pot pie with cheddar cheese crust, green salad cukes, tomatoes and peppers, green beans

Tuesday:
Tacos with all of the fixings, corn, spanish rice for the kids, southwest blackbean and quinoa salad for the adults (I am addicted to this salad - divine!)

Wednesday:
Homemade mushroom soup, grilled cheese paninis, caesar salad

Thursday:
I will be at the Temple and Dallin will probably make pancakes or the like for the kids

Friday:
homemade pizza (we did not eat this last week) and veggies and dip

Saturday:
Something easy if we go to a Hallowe'en party but if not then maybe out for date night and pasta for the littles

Okay all - what are you eating this week?  Are you making any Halloween treats?  ANy especially gross or scary recipes?  Something yummy you are dying to make?  Sharesies .....

  1. I've been craving a pot pie lately, and I remember you giving me the recipe when I got married, I want to make it soon!
