It's What's for Dinner!

What a glorious Monday! I know I know, but really I like Mondays, especially when it is sunny and spring seems to be visiting us briefly.
So, I am thinking of trying some new here on Domestic Diva. I am pretty positive no one reads this blog anyway (with the exception of my dear sister in laws) so I figured no one would mind if I try a new weekly post. As most of you know (ahem, Laura and Julia) I love to cook. It really is what I am all about when I am not taking care of my hubby and kids, which I love too. Cooking makes me feel good and gives me a sense of accomplishment. I love to feed people and make things they enjoy. I like the process of making things from scratch and I like seeing why things work like they do. That is probably the scientist in me. I also love researching healthy options for my family and am working on removing some of the bad things from our diet. More on that as I do it!
Why do I tell you all of this? Well, because I am thinking that every Monday (or close to) I will do a post about this week's dinners and then sometime in the week I will post a recipe from that week. Either a dinner entree or a side dish or a dessert or just a snack we made. Something. I figure if I am going to blog, it might as well be about something I like!

What's for Dinner, you ask? Well I'll tell you. This week ....

Sunday:
Beef/chicken and veggie kabobs with oven roast potato wedges and strawberry pecan salad

Monday:
Moroccan chicken with couscous, peas and a tomato and cucumber salad
(although I may try it with quinoa instead of couscous - healthier option)

Tuesday:
Taco Pie with spanish rice, corn and maybe a salad

Wednesday:
mustard grilled pork chops, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans

Thursday:
tarragon chicken vol au vents with asparagus and spinach salad

Friday:
blue cheese and caramelized onion burgers with chips and veggies

Saturday:
we will be at the Temple so maybe frozen pizza for the kids

If you ever see something on the menu that you want to know more about, let me know and I will try to make sure I do a run down on that recipe.

Until then, happy cooking!

  2. I could use some inspiration. I am the worst cook ... We eat a lot of smoothies or cheese and crackers for dinner at our house. That Moroccan chicken sounds good!
