Week 67

Gingerbread houses at school

Yeah, yeah, missed another week.  Big surprise.  It is almost Christmas, alright!  I know it is no excuse but things are just so crazy around here!  Dallin wrote 2 finals last week, we had 4 Christmas concerts, 1 Joyschool party, several church activities, 1 round of a stomach virus (which produced 9 pukes in Costco no less) and a partridge in a pear tree.  Things are nuts, no doubt for everyone.  I am used to it, you should be, too.
This week we have another crazy week but thankfully Dallin is off until January 2nd and we are SO thrilled to have him here.  We had 3 separate places to be today - volunteering in 2 different classes and a field trip so it was nice to have the extra hands and parent to help out.  I am trying to enjoy all of the craziness this week since I know Dallin will be back in school so fast and this will all seem like a memory, having him around so much with no homework looming overhead.

This week for dinner:

Sunday:
Dinner at my parents house - spaghetti and meat sauce, mesclun green salad with goat cheese, and garlic parmesan pull-apart bread (an amazing recipe, I will post it soon)

Monday:
I literally had an hour to take stuff out and make dinner happen.  Taco pie, spanish rice (tried a new recipe, not bad but needed ... something), corn and spinach salad

Tuesday:
We are taking the kids to Calgary for Sophia's birthday since we did not do it when she had it.  Movies and Build-a-Bear.  Depends on when we get back and if we go out to dinner after

Wednesday:
Pork tenderloin with apple chutney, mashed potatoes, mushroom garlic green beans

Thursday:
Something quick and easy of we are going to the Nativity like we are planning - tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches?

Friday:
Homemade pizza, raw veggies, fruit

Saturday:
Taking the girls out to eat and to see the Nutcracker, not too sure what time we will get home.

What are you eating this week?  Are you sticking to meal plans this time of year or is it just out the window?  We have been doing okay but I am finding it harder and harder to stick to a schedule with so much going on these days!
