Revelations

I am not entirely sure how this happened. I was not ready for it. I was not prepared to do this yet. Over the past few weeks leading up to Easter, my girls very pointedly asked, in front of their siblings, if the Easter Bunny is real. I often used the "Do YOU believe he is real?" approach followed by the "Only kids who believe get candy" tactic. That works for Santa in our house, after all. I knew it was coming, the doubt and understanding creeping into their young minds. I just wasn't ready for it to be our not-quite 7 year old to be the one to demand the truth!
We finally had to tell them. They immediately made the connection between the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa :(
Here is a snippet of our conversation:

me: How do you feel?
Em: Okay
Soph: (shrugs her shoulders)
me: are you sad?
Soph: Well, ya. I am a little young!

Little turkey!

  2. ha ha ha! Sophia kills me.
I told my kids I was doing the easter egg hunt for them, they didn't even ask about the easter bunny. I wanted to do it after they'd eaten lunch after church.
