Stegasaurus, Teradactyls and T-Rex ... Oh, My!

We took the kids along with my Dad to the Royal Tyrell Museum. It has been 3 years since the last time we were there and the kids LOVED it. All of those huge dinosaur bones and all of the amazing facts and pictures. It is just incredible and really we are SO lucky to have that here. What an unbelievable teaching tool and learning resource. I am sure we are the only place in N America to have that kind of museum and collection. Anyway, I digress ....
The kids had a blast looking at all the dinosaurs. We did have to confirm with Jack every few minutes that they were, in fact, all dead and that none of them would come alive again. Lydia LOVED playing with the globes that were all over and would happily spin it if someone would hold her (someone = Grampa)
After the museum it was hot and we decided to get ice cream. Apparently that is easier said than done in Drumheller and we drove around for 30 minutes looking before deciding to go to the information center to ask and there was ice cream across the street :P
The kids discovered a splash park so after the ice cream was abandoned the kids all decided to get soaked, clothes and all. They had a blast and then drove home in their underwear. What I wouldn't give to be a kid again!

  1. How fun!! Too funny that the ice cream parlor was right there! I'll have to go check it out some day :)
